About Us

Shawn's Story

Hello, my name is Shawn. I am a proud father and husband with a lifelong passion for dogs. Growing up surrounded by dogs, I developed a deep love and understanding for these incredible animals. My journey in dog training began in the Singapore Police Canine Unit, where I worked as a dog handler. My uncle, with over 40 years of experience as the chief dog trainer, taught me modern dog training methods and skills.

Today, I bring my extensive experience and knowledge to my own dog training facility. Having worked in pet shops and now venturing out on my own, I am dedicated to providing top-notch dog training consultations and services.

At Dog Papa, our mission is to empower dog owners with the skills they need to build a harmonious and fulfilling relationship with their dogs, guided by expert dog trainers in Singapore.

His behavior continues to improve; he's such a GOOD BOY now. "Hi Shawn. It's been a while, but I wanted to share my surprise. Neptune has been great—when we go out, he sits calmly by the patio door and avoids going upstairs. Even during rain or thunder, he stays quiet, facing the wall (although he still trembles a bit). Thank you!"

"I'm pleased to share that he's eating well now, and I hope this continues. I've been focusing on his heel training, and he's showing significant improvement—he doesn't pull the leash as much anymore and looks at me frequently. When I stop, he stops too. His behavior during walks has been surprisingly good. I've been taking him on long walks, giving him potty breaks, and gently guiding him when he wants to sniff around. He's responding well and no longer pulls on the leash like he used to, so I've stopped using the slip lead.
